At Aquatic Equipment & Design, we understand at the core of your school’s mission, student achievement comes first. The modern-day classroom experience means getting the most out of equipment that supports both a wide range of student abilities and learning activities. These complete aquaponic systems are ideal for small footprints in the classroom environment. Each system arrives ready-to-set-up and offers the education specialist the opportunity to support a science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) curriculum to incorporate a wide range of subjects, including aquatic science, math, engineering, chemistry, horticulture, and more.

If you’re an educator (6th to 12th grade) interested in utilizing aquaponics for STEM
learning and need help doing so, then inquire with AED about the new aquaponic
learning resources AED is developing with the help of educational experts. The
resources are developed with State of Florida education standards, but resources can
be transformed into a global instructional outline to effectively implement teaching
standards into any classroom. The AED aquaponic systems are a natural fit for STEM
education and experimental learning in the modern-day classroom.

Aquaculture Technology Features

  •        Fish tanks and filter boxes constructed from fiberglass (FRP).
  •        Filter includes simple and effective solid and biological media for aquatic life support.
  •        A single, submersible pump quietly circulates water around fish tank and hydroponic area.
  •        Submersible pump with venturi creates aeration to support fish and plant health.
  •        Systems use less than 1.5% of total volume daily for solids removal and evaporation loss.
  •        System components are freshwater and saltwater compatible.

Fish net, water quality test kit, and thermometer included. Contact Aquatic Equipment & Design regarding other accessory items and options. Additionally, FRP tank stands and adjustable pedestals are options for individual site requirements with uneven surfaces.

Hydroponic Technology Features

  •        Floating raft surface area ranges from 2 ft2 to 4 ft2 depending on aquaculture system size.
  •        Indoor grow lamp and stand to provide necessary photosynthetic light for optimal plant growth.
  •        Seedling starting kit with media, reusable seedling plug tray, and indoor grow lamp.
